摘要: Introduction: Intravitreal injections are a very common procedure and the most effective route of drug delivery to retina. There currently several drugs available even more in development; therefore, safety is important concern. Areas covered: The toxicological considerations used for intravitreal pharmacotherapy such as anti-VEGFs, corticosteroids antibiotics. Emerging agents anti-TNFs, VEGF-trap kinase inhibitors also discussed. An assessment efficacy issues relevant including bevacizumab, ranibizumab triamcinolone presented.
