摘要: The highest concentration of oak species in the world occurs Mexico, but human activities have strongly degraded these forests. Mexican oaks high economic, social, and cultural value, restoring forests is paramount importance for people Mexico. Here, we propose a method using native shrubs that colonize areas as nurse plants seedlings. To test viability this proposal, seedling transplant experiments were performed area near protected forest relict. Two pioneer identified potential species: Mimosa luisana Senecio sp. target was Quercus castanea. Oak seedlings located beneath canopies both surrounding without shrub cover. Water limiting resource establishment seasonally dry environments; therefore, included irrigation systems our experimental design to determine whether combination plus watering led higher rate survival than presence alone. Seedling less 20% habitat. When water supplied, increased up 58% while habitat did not differ from observed treatments watering. Our results indicate by only when supplied. This suggests restoration requires
