摘要: Polymeric polyimide capillary tubing, both uncoated and coated with stationary phases of two polarities, is explored for use as columns gas chromatography (GC). These glass-free are flexible their small winding diameter less than a cm around solid support makes them compatible potential in portable GC instruments. Polyimide dimensions 0.32 mm i.d. ×3 m cleaned, annealed at 300°C, using the static method phenylmethylsilicone (PMS). Separations volatile organics investigated isothermally on duplicate sets by flame ionization detector split injection. Unlike ones, successfully separate Grob test mix classes alkanes, amines, fatty acid methyl esters. The relative standard deviations retention time peak area 0.5% 2.5%, respectively. With 3 PMS-coated column connected to gap permit operation its optimum flow rate 30 cm/s, plate count 3200 or height 1 possible. Lack tailing peaks evident polymer compared that commercial cross-linked PMS fused silica capillary. However, headspace analyses an aromatic hydrocarbon Clearcoat automotive paint sample viable applications column.
