摘要: A test specimen in the form of a hoop with two 90° curved sections is described. When loaded three point bending, both interlaminar tensile and shear stresses arise sections. Maximum occur at similar locations, allowing combined effect these stress components to be investigated. Changing geometry alters ratio between tension. Experimental results are presented for sets unidirectional glass fibre/epoxy specimens. It shown that it possible specimens subjected tension withstand higher than when only This believed due smaller volume maximum as result gradient along length specimen. An approach account this based on Weibull statistical theory quadratic interaction equation shear. Using from finite element analysis, satisfactory predictions strength can made.
