摘要: In June 1981, the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report published an account of five homosexual men infected with Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP).1 As case reports mounted PCP, previously rare Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS), other opportunistic infections,2 symptom cluster was given name acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). 1983, a retrovirus isolated that is currently believed to be etiologic in AIDS, which now carries official human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). After brief introduction on HIV illness general, we review literature date its neuropsychiatric aspects, major focus complicated diagnostic treatment issues at this interface. Psychosocial issues3,4 so essential treatment, are described elsewhere volume beyond scope chapter.
