摘要: The Drosophila brain is highly variable in size. Female flies grown densely populated larval cultures have up to 20% more Kenyon cell fibers their mushroom bodies than from low-density cultures. These differences the number of are accompanied by volume calyx. During imaginal life, changes observed calyces, all parts optic lobes, central brain, and complex. They occur not only first week adulthood but also between days 8 16. Factors causing these little understood. In kept pairs for 1 week, size calyx lobula influenced sex partner. Females larger calyces if partner female it male. Males seem be affected same way. living solitarily food vials life smaller lobulae females having spent a flight cage. heterosexual groups 40 animals still lobulae, medullae, siblings isolation. addition, yet unidentified factors long short trends. data suggest that Drosophila, most neuropil regions continuously reorganized throughout response specific conditions.
