摘要: In North America the names Punctelia subrudecta and P. perreticulata have variously been applied to corticolous sorediate specimens with lecanoric acid a pale lower surface. ITS1, 5.8S, ITS2 sequence data were generated from geographically morphologically broad sampling within these specimens, molecular phylogeny was inferred. A combined approach using morphology, geography, used circumscribe three distinct species in America, one of which is described as new science (P. caseana), finally confirmed for continent jeckeri), whose original circumscription validated perreticulata). The inferred ITS supports taxonomic value following morphological characters distinguishing this group: presence/absence pruina; conidium type length (although see discussion scrobiculae on upper key American provided.
