摘要: The past decade of nitric oxide (NO) research was highlighted by the awarding 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine to Drs. Robert Furchgott, Louis Ignarro, Ferid Murad for their discoveries that endothelial cells synthesize (NO), derived NO regulates vascular smooth muscle relaxation. Although is one smallest synthetic products mammalian cells, its contributions are large. Continued field has not only emphasized important physiologic functions NO, but revealed paradoxical role pathophysiologic states as well.
