摘要: Abstract Background There is a lack of information on long term complications patients with pulmonary embolism (PE), including chronic complaints dyspnea. Methods Consecutive prior diagnosis acute PE and an age gender matched control group no medical history were presented questionnaire, designed to establish the presence, severity possible causes dyspnea in clinical course PE. Results The questionnaire was taken 48 PE-survivors 40 ± 7.4 months after PE; 27 (56%) had Sixteen (35%) categorized as NYHA class II, 6 (13%) III 5 (10%) IV. Overall, 19 (70%) new or worsened study included 61 controls. Corrected for gender, history, significantly less dyspnoeic compared survivors (p  Conclusion A large percentage have persistent at follow-up. majority them developed thrombo-embolic event. In comparison population without VTE, overall more dyspnoeic. An explanation this phenomenon needs be studied further functional work-up these patients.
