摘要: Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) is used to investigate the adsorption on graphite of two-solute mixtures from phenyloctane solvent at room temperature. The first mixture composed co-solutes hexadecanoic acid (HA) and 2-Br-hexadecanoic (2BrHA), while second tetracosanoic (TA) octadecanoic (OA). While HA/2BrHA solution exhibits a miscible co-adsorbed surface structure, TA/OA reveals quasi-segregated structure where there sharp transition full coverage by one solute as composition varied. A one-dimensional Ising model behavior both systems, it shown that OA/TA correspond two different limits this model. similar, weak interactions between adsorbed molecules, corresponding limit model, which also corresponds competitive Langmuir adsorption. Another reached when are significantly co-adsorbates surface, situation present in resulting co-adsorption behavior.
