摘要: This study was conducted in the Eastern Usangu wetland Mbeya and Iringa regions to examine composition, abundance diversity of mammals along a hydrological gradient. Data were collected two seasons using distance sampling method transects handheld GPS locate positions. Statistical tests (t-test, Kruskal-Wallis Pearson’s correlation) employed determine association between animals observed Diversity gradient determined  by variety indices PRIMER 5.0 software. The revealed that sighted decreased with distances from edge though not statistically significant Flight observed  high indicating higher degree disturbances related anthropogenic activities. Indicators such area included abandoned farms, demolished houses livestock dung. There difference number seasons, where species richness late dry season. These results indicate is an important refuge for as both diversity  increasing increases during recommends continuous monitoring birds populations Topi help determining changes over time wetlands result conservation interventions against disturbances.
