摘要: Abstract Aim Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common mesenchymal neoplasm of gastrointestinal tract. Recently, many investigations have been conducted on various aspects laparoscopic surgery for gastric GIST. However, no study has provided long-term follow up results The aims this were to assess feasibility and safety GIST evaluate oncologic validity procedure. Materials methods Between January 1998 August 2005, 51 patients with submucosal stomach treated by at our institution. Of patients, 23 confirmed as immunohistochemistry (CD 117, c-kit gene product). Patients' clinicopathologic characteristics, operative outcomes, postoperative complications, follow-up findings analyzed retrospectively. Results mean age was 59.7 years, 12 women. Twelve (47%) presented epigastric pain. size 4.2 ± 2.1 cm, tumors located in upper (52.2%). time 104.3 min. No case open conversion, reoperation mortality occurred present study. Most had very low risk (60.6%), while only two high malignancy. During a median period 61 months (range, 7–98 months), there recurrences or metastases. Conclusion Laparoscopic wedge resection safe, oncologically technically feasible hands an experienced surgeon.
