摘要: Abstract. Renewable power systems have to cope with highly variable generation. Increasing the spatial extent of an interconnected transmission grid smooths feed-in by exchange excess energy over long distances and therefore supports renewable integration. In this work, we investigate quantify balancing potential a supergrid covering Europe, Africa Asia. We use ten years historical weather data model interplay generation consumption show that pan-continental Afro-Eurasian can smooth large reduce need for backup around 50 %. addition, results different vary up approximately
