摘要: Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence, clinical characteristics, and management coronary chronic total occlusions (CTOs) in current practice. Background There is little evidence contemporary literature concerning treatment decisions regarding patients who have CTOs identified during angiography. Methods Consecutive undergoing nonurgent angiography with CTO were prospectively at 3 Canadian sites from April 2008 July 2009. Patients previous artery bypass graft surgery or presenting acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction excluded. Detailed baseline clinical, angiographic, electrocardiographic, revascularization data collected. Results Chronic 1,697 (18.4%) significant disease (>50% stenosis ≥1 artery) nonemergent Previous history documented 40% patients, electrocardiographic Q waves corresponding territory only 26% cases. Left ventricular function normal >50% CTO. Half located right artery. Almost half treated medically, 25% underwent (CTO bypassed 88%). Percutaneous intervention done 30% although lesions attempted 10% (with 70% success rate). Conclusions are common catheterization laboratory Prospective studies needed ascertain benefits strategies these complex patients.
