摘要: Self-injury among female adolescents has become an important clinical issue in social work practice. Anxiety been cited as one of the primary reasons that self-injury occurs this population. This paper explores role empathy mitigating anxiety and helping with emotional regulation highlights need to empathically monitor self-systems clients who self-injure. considers issues gender family structure within population transference countertransference processes can help develop therapeutic relationship. A case study is presented highlight these processes. Implications for practice are discussed.
