摘要: It is suggested that the Helikian (1650-1000 million years (Ma) ago) evolution of Grenville Province in Canadian Shield was marked by three events: emplacement anorthosites around 1450-1500 Ma ago, rifting associated with opening a proto-Atlantic ocean between 1200 and 1300 continental collision responsible for Grenvillian 'orogeny' about 1100-1000 ago. Emplacement rocks anorthosite suite (anorthosites adamellites or mangerites) into crust accompanied formation aureoles granulite facies. The Group deposited southern part ago comprises marbles, clastic metasedimentary volcanics. occupies roughly triangular area limited on northwest Bancroft-Renfrew lineament southeast Chibougamau-Gatineau lineament. thought to have been accumulated an aulacogen would developed along fracture zone separating two basement blocks. thermotectonic event may represent Tibetan sense Burke & Dewey. suture now be hidden under Appalachians. Collision cause reactivation renewed movement pre-existing lineaments. east-central appears more intensively reactivated than western part.
