摘要: Considerable debate has focused on the contrasting merits of embryonic and adult stem cells. Fetal cells represent an intermediate cell type in this controversy. Adult have limited capacity to differentiate into fully functioning mature types their tissue origin (multipotent), whereas (ESCs) advantageous develop all (pluripotent), including trophoblasts (totipotent). However, ESC research been hampered by both safety concerns ethical reservations due requisite destruction blastocyst during harvesting. Transplantation ESCs is almost invariably followed development embryonal teratomas, precluding transplantation. On other hand, advantage greater accessibility, but disadvantage more proliferative restricted plasticity. Nevertheless, mesenchymal (MSCs) can a range mesoderm-derived tissues such as bone, fat cartilage, while haemopoietic (HSCs) reconstitute system. The plasticity might seem give them therapeutic over cells, whereas, effect, limits potential application result oncogenicity. So it that hold promise for transplantation, eventual clinical use likely be engineering applications.
