摘要: Insulators or chromatin boundary elements are defined by their ability to block transcriptional activation an enhancer and prevent the spread of active silenced chromatin. Recent studies have increasingly suggested that insulator proteins play a role in large-scale genome organization. To better understand function on global scale, we conducted genome-wide analysis binding sites for protein CTCF Drosophila Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) followed tiling-array analysis. The revealed many known domain boundaries within Abd-B gene BX-C including previously characterized Fab-8 MCP insulators, Fab-6 region. Based this finding, element. In analysis, found dCTCF-binding often situated between closely positioned promoters, consistent with as protein. Importantly, tends bind promoters just upstream transcription start sites, contrast predicted Su(Hw). These findings suggest plays more roles regulating activity it functions differently from other organizing genome.
