Family Functioning in Pediatric Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders: A Systematic Review.

摘要: OBJECTIVE Children with some chronic health conditions experience family functioning difficulties. However, research examining in youth functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) has produced mixed results. Therefore, the current review critically synthesized literature on among FGIDs. METHODS A systematic search using pediatric, functioning, and FGID terms was conducted PubMed, PsycInfo, ProQuest. Out of 586 articles initially identified, 17 studies met inclusion criteria. Studies were included if they presented original English, assessed study sample consisted children (0-18 years) diagnosed a FGID. Quality assessment ratings for each based previously developed scientific merit 3-point rating system. RESULTS The majority (n = 13) examined between FGIDs comparison groups. remaining explored associations variables (e.g., child psychosocial sociodemographic factors) clusters In general, demonstrated poorer compared to healthy counterparts.
