Relationship between Cigarette Smoking and Histologic Type of Lung Cancer, with Special Reference to Sex Difference

摘要: In order to clarify sex differences associated with the relationship between smoking and each histologic type of lung cancer, histories 2,083 cancer patients (1,660 men 423 women) diagnosed at Center for Adult Diseases, Osaka, from 1965 1983 were analyzed. The rates expected smokers among these cases calculated age specific in general population, reported annually by Japan Tobacco Salt Public Corporation. odds ratios estimated be 5.2, 3.1, 6.9, 4.1 squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, small carcinoma large 7.2, 1.8, 14.4 3.8 women respectively. Significant observed only adenocarcinoma. carcinomas, dividing them into two groups according location. No difference was found this respect.
