Improvisation of Offshore IT Outsourcing in High-Velocity Environments

摘要: Improvisation is becoming increasingly hot in the organizational and strategic field. Yet, from improvisation perspective, it less obvious about origins of improvisation, building relationship innovation. To answer these questions, this study uses an exploratory longitudinal multiple-case design. The research setting was highvelocity environment offshore IT outsourcing industry. Our sample consists two globally recognized Chinese service vendors which had several characteristics that fitted our question. overall result work a model outsourcing, showing that: (1) really cultivated by culture outsourcing. Uncertainty levels time pressure, although necessary, not sufficient condition for emergence improvisation. (2) Taking form distinct but interdependent processes structural ties (routines, plans rules)and relational (communication, swift trust), contrast to isolation approach existing literature. (3) Improvisation, because both promote or restrict information flow time-consuming, associated with good poor innovation performance. implications findings researchers are discussed.
