摘要: This paper studied the ballistic performance of 3D woven angle-interlock fabric reinforced composites with different types panel construction. Two P10B and P17C were designed to have same areal density around 12 kg/m2 although they both had ply densities consisted numbers plies. Non-perforated impacts conducted on two panels under level impact energy. Post-mortem examination non-perforated was through cross-sectional images, planar projected delamination damage volume extracted from non-destructive tests. Three distinctive sections segmented panels, each indicating material failure modes upon impact. Under density, coarser composite a larger fewer reinforcement plies would result in less damage. The is nearly one-third that P17C. findings are instructive for design continuously doubly-curved shapes.
