摘要: Abstract Introduction Post-mortem cardiac MR exams present with different contraction appearances of the left ventricle in short axis images. It was hypothesized that grade post-mortem may be related to interval (PMI) or cause death and a phenomenon caused by internal rigor mortis give further insights circumstances death. Method materials The investigated 71 (mean age at 52 y, range 12–89 y; 48 males, 23 females). In images ventricular lumen volume as well myocardial were assessed manual segmentation. quotient both (LVQ) represents contraction. LVQ correlated PMI, sex, age, weight, body mass height, pericardial tamponade when present. causes separate correlation for acute infarction cases arrhythmic deaths. Results values ranged from 1.99 (maximum dilatation) 42.91 contraction) mean 15.13. decreased slightly increasing however without significant correlation. Pericardial positively higher values. Variables such weight did not correlate There no difference Conclusion Based on observation our cases, cannot explained influence variables, except cases. Further research addressing has focus other, less obvious factors, which early phase too.
