Effect of pre hot corrosion on high cycle fatigue behavior of the superalloy IN718 at 600 °C

摘要: Abstract High cycle fatigue behavior of the superalloy IN718 was studied in air at 600 °C fully reversed stress controlled mode (R = −1), as heat treated condition well pre hot corroded salt mixture 75Na2SO4 + 15NaCl + 10V2O5 (wt.%) for 100 h. Fatigue life specimens drastically reduced all amplitudes studied. The variation with amplitude followed Basquin relationship. endurance limit by 100 MPa respect that sample. reduction found to be associated pits formed on surface due evaporation chlorides, from prior corrosion above mixture, which led early crack initiation and rapid propagation.
