摘要: Concentrations of PCB isomers, polychlorinated/brominated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs/PBDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs/PBDFs), polybrominated biphenyl ethers (PBBEs), total extractable organic halogen (EOX) were determined in carp (Cyprinus carpio) three age classes collected from the Buffalo River, New York. Total PCBs concentrations exceeded United States Food Drug Administration's tolerable level 2 μg/g (wet wt) all classes. Concentration ranges PCDDs PCDFs 27-146 22-99 pg/g, respectively. Among several 2,3,7,8-substituted isomers detected, OCDD OCDF most predominantly noticed congeners. Noticeable PBBEs found with a major contribution tetra-BBEs. Extractable organochlorines (EOCl) highest EOX family followed by organobromines organoiodines. The known such as DDT accounted for 13-58% EOCl, suggesting presence considerable levels other unknown organochlorines. 2,3,7,8-TCDD equivalents coplanar PCBs, dioxins, furans muscle between 45 108 38-48% toxicity exerted mono-ortho-PCBs. estimated allowable consumption rates based on risk assessment method much lowerthan actual values available Great Lakes states. Elevated than dioxins suggest need to protect humans PCB-contaminated River.
