摘要: There is a great disparity between African and Caucasian Americans with regard to frequency of cancer screenings, timely follow-up, scheduling diagnostic appointments. This study compared popular press articles targeting those in an effort understand how the media, which often reflection dominant culture, contributes this disparity. The data were analyzed along three dimensions: comparative descriptive analysis, impact on reader's beliefs about cancer, social control exerted by political-economic context discourse occurs. Significant differences found many parameters. results demonstrate importance considering influence media when healthcare interventions.
