摘要: High concentrations of 2-deoxy-d-ribose (2dRib) have been reported to cause oxidative stress and disturb the glutathione (GSH) metabolism various cell types. Exposure astrocyte-rich primary cultures millimolar 2dRib or its stereoisomer 2-deoxy-l-ribose, but not incubation with ribose, 2-deoxyglucose, glucose, fructose saccharose, lowered cellular GSH content in a time concentration dependent manner. After exposure for 4 h 30 mM cells contained about 24 mM. Under these conditions did compromise viability ability synthesise GSH, nor were ratio disulfide (GSSG) extracellular GSSG increased. These data demonstrate that deprives viable cultured astrocytes suggest reaction metabolites is involved deprivation astrocytic GSH.
