摘要: Many rubber-toughened epoxies are thought to derive the bulk of their toughness through processes rubber cavitation and plastic shear-yielding in epoxy matrix. Constraint relief has been considered be a key mechanism which allows extra shear deformation occur. The present work attempts provide direct experimental evidence constraint effect by combining testing geometries that vary degree with microscopic observations. results show success as toughening agent for is closely related its ability cavitate. Evidence local presented. Upon rubber, stress state specimen initial found change plane state. circumvents or delays crack initiation matrix, more
