摘要: SiC fiber-reinforced titanium matrix composite (TMC) is an interesting material for aerospace industry because of its excellent properties. Characterization their interfacial reaction product principal to further optimization the TMCs. Here we report application Raman spectroscopy identify products and microstructural details in thermal-treated SiCf/C/Mo/Ti6Al4V composite. Meanwhile TEM performed help explain phenomena result. line scanning along interface indicates thickness two sublayers (Ti5Si3(Cx) layer next fiber TiCx matrix). The main result phase distribution confirmed by TEM. While a 300-nm Ti3SiC2 whose features are similar with nearby Ti5Si3(Cx) also detected. peakshift possibly results from residual stress or/and evolution caused carbon solution. No evidence Mo participation reactions. However, diffusion changes alloy affects indirectly. Meanwhile, indicate that particles defective Ti3AlC2. Ti3AlC2 differ bulk material, which attributed defects. Although formation mechanism ambiguous, it relates nearby. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
