摘要: Assessment of tooth cementum annulations (TCA) is acknowledged for its potential as a more accurate method estimating age-at-death than conventional macroscopic methods typically employed. Thermal alteration remains in forensic context not uncommon; however, the use TCA heat-treated has hitherto received no quantitative assessment accuracy. This study applies to sample modern teeth known demographics after experimental heat treatment at 600, 800 and 1000°C. Cementum do survive thermal alteration; their visibility dependent on exposure temperature. Physical chemical changes resulted being applicable only 63.3% samples. An overall correlation age r = 0.522 (p 600°C, longer yields enough results be investigations.
