摘要: Abstract The sequence stratigraphy of the Late Jurassic (Oxfordian to Kimmeridgian) central Arabia is based on outcrop measured sections. stratigraphic framework extended eastward across Arabian Basin through surface-to-subsurface gamma-ray correlations (550 km long east). It provides an insight into development intrashelf basin in a large epeiric tropical platform. depositional environments range from semi-arid shoreline carbonate inner-lagoon and back-barrier lagoon. These formed aggraded flat-topped platform with evident syndepositional differential subsidence. Upper successions are composed several transgressive third-order sequences interrupted by short emersion boundaries. Hanifa Platform evolved proximal argillaceous-limestone low-faunal diversity open-marine platforms reef bearing high-faunal adjacent deep subsurface. maximum flooding surfaces (MFS's) placed terrigenous-free sediments. Jubaila-Arab-D conformable succession marked at base storm-influenced inner-platform grainstones quartz sandstone, barren lime-mudstone. MFS higher Arab-D reservoir backstepping high-energy facies. During sea-level highstand, facies gently prograding toward Rimthan Arch leaving behind restricted lagoon deposits consists sabkhah/salina anhydride. composite probably controlled climatic driven eustasy, coupled local tectonic disruption, as they have some similarity other Tethyan stratigraphy. For first time, this study reveals detailed complete that subdivided prolific petroleum systems genetically related not always obvious subsurface data. allows assessment tectono-stratigraphic events Platform.
