Effects of age and gender on left atrial ejection force and volume from real-time three-dimensional echocardiography.

摘要: Introduction: This study was carried out to (i) provide the methodology for determining left atrial (LA) volume, emptying fraction and ejection force (LAEF), from real-time 3-dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE), (ii) evaluate effects of age gender on LA volume LAEF in a wide range healthy participants. Materials Methods: RT3DE performed 102 participants (age range, 20 80 years). From fullvolume data sets, endocardial borders were automatically traced volumes determined. calculated as 1/3×mitral annular area × (blood density) (peak velocity A wave) 2 according Newton’s law motion hydrodynamics; wherein mitral (MVA) is using peak Doppler-derived blood at systole with sample placed annulus level. Results: ANOVA analysis revealed that indices signifi cantly correlated (r = 0.366, P <0.0001 maximal index r 0.288, <0.005 minimal index). also positively 0.49, <0.0001).
