摘要: The temporal and spatial characteristics of groundwater recharge in urban environments remain poorly understood. Depth-specific monitoring quality the Triassic Sandstone underlying city Nottingham, UK, indicates that contamination results primarily from sewage atmospheric sources. depth-specific microbial inorganic (e.g. nitrate, chloride, sulphate) over investigation period differ significantly reflect contrasting transport surface-loaded solutes particulate species (bacteria viruses) Sandstone. Differences result a variety factors, which include die-off, dilution, contaminant-source characteristics. Observations this study show low levels should be expected at depth fissured sandstone due to aquifer heterogeneities such as fissuring occurrence mudstone bands, though magnitude will vary time. Furthermore, groundwater-protection measures based on solute-transport estimates may not applicable contamination.
