摘要: Hardening of the chorion medaka eggs was quantitated in terms solubility its constituent proteins. After activation unfertilized with Ca2+-ionophore A23187, hardening (named ionophore-activation hardening) proceeded and 60 min after proteins 1 N NaOH had decreased to 20% that unhardened chorions. On SDS-PAGE, chorions gave four major protein bands (150, 83, 78 51 K). activation, new two (135 61 K) appeared, concurrent disappearance all original except K band. Isolated were also hardened by Ca2+and addition Ca2+the their about 45% originally. During this type ‘Ca2+-hardening), however, SDS-PAGE pattern remained unchanged. Therefore, there are mechanisms hardening. The ‘ionophore-activation inhibited cadaverine. When isolated 20 kept Ca2+-free conditions, process arrested: further resumed on Ca2+to medium. These results suggest presence some machinery
