摘要: The semantic field of animal terms in English was investigated with five experimental techniques: free listing; pair ratings; triad verbal associations; and paired-associates learning. A set 30 animals scaled the pair-rating experiment, a subset six one triad-rating 12 another experiment. same names were stimuli for associations. or responses paired-associate Results showed clear structure, relevant dimensions size ferocity, terms. Furthermore, there little effect scaled, different scaling techniques high correspondence. Different investigative methods gave highly similar clusters animals. However, experiment unsuccessful eliciting space names.
