摘要: Abstract Three tobacco varieties, differentially susceptible to ozone, were exposed outdoors 32 km west of central London, during the summer 1972. At same time atmosphere was continuously monitored for ozone. Extensive damage appeared on leaves sensitive variety (Bel-W3), but little or no observed two more resistant varieties (Bel-B and Bel-C). The injury resembled that reported elsewhere ozone tobacco, amount appearing in a given period significantly positively correlated with number hours concentration exceeded maximum natural level. It is concluded Bel-W3 suitable use as an indicator low levels atmospheric under British conditions. possibility occurring crops Britain discussed.
