摘要: As car expertise increases, so does interference between the visual processing of faces and that cars; this suggests performance trade-offs across domains real-world expertise. Such expert has been previously revealed in a relatively complex design, interleaving 2-back part-judgment task with cars (Gauthier, Curran, Curby, & Collins, 2003). However, basis is unclear. Experiment 1a replicated finding cars, as function Experiments 1b 2 investigated mechanisms underlying effect by 1) providing baseline measures 2) assessing specificity effect. Our findings support presence expertise-dependent face non-face surprisingly, it condition where are processed among disrupted configuration greater influence on faces. This highlights how expertise-related changes also occur for transformed objects such can drive
