摘要: The use of pulse oximetry in dental procedures involving sedation and children has been encouraged strongly. Reports have indicated that hemoglobin desaturations are not uncommon when a variety drugs (including nitrous oxide) dosages used. present study investigated the nature relation to patient activity as function drug combination, single dose-response design, placebo conditions. Twenty-two patients (mean age 29.45 months; range 20-37 months) participated this two-part study. In part 1, 12 received combination chloral hydrate hydroxyzine crossover, double-blind design. 2, 10 three doses double-blind, randomized sequence four visits During each restorative visit, peripheral oxygen saturation, expired carbon dioxide, heart respiratory rates, blood pressure, frontalis electromyogram child was monitored. overall results 63 87-90% 235 desaturation episodes were due movement. clinical implications findings discussed.
