摘要: Older people face many difficult challenges that amount to a deplorable violation of their basic human rights (poverty, discrimination, denial social services, etc.). However, the world has been slow react. Factors limit global responses aging include: limited political will, prevalence neo-liberalism, and NGOs' longstanding advocacy for other seemingly "more" disadvantaged groups. Such oppression discrimination against older require concerted world-wide response. We contend introduction an international convention on is most relevant. Reinforced by potent monitoring system, should contain comprehensive legally binding provisions participating states promote people's rights. It argued law would be powerful force in defending protecting persons, operating as baseline establishing underlying values national policies linking persons' concerns with segments society.
