摘要: Abstract Background Obesity has been clinically associated with musculoskeletal disorders. However, the findings were mainly focused on analysis in sagittal plane. The objectives of this study to investigate three-dimensional gait characteristics Chinese obese adults and compare results normal subjects. Methods Fourteen subjects, mean age 35.4 (8.8) years, eight females six males, body mass index 33.06 (4.2) kg/m 2 14 non-obese 27.6 (8.6) years, 21.33 (1.5) kg/m participated study. All subjects did not have current or past neurological cardiovascular illness, orthopaedic abnormality, pain which might affect gait. kinematics kinetics data all recorded during their self-selected walking speed a motion system. Findings group walked slower had shorter stride length. They also spent more time stance phase double support walking. Greater hip adduction was shown terminal pre-swing. maximum knee angles both swing phases significantly higher. ankle eversion angle higher from mid There reduction peak plantar flexor moment, increase inversion moment. Interpretation some significant differences temporal–spatial, joint moment between participants. individuals adjust response heavy bodies reduce about energy expenditure per unit time.
