摘要: Our previous study has demonstrated that piglets infected with highly pathogenic PRRSV (HP-PRRSV) induced significant thymus atrophy. The aim of this was to further investigate the lesions in HP-PRRSV or and changes thymic T cell populations. were evaluated for thymus/body weight ratios, pathological virus load thymus, apoptosis ultrastructure thymocytes. result showed ratios HP-PRRSV-infected significantly reduced compared PRRSV-infected control piglets, characterized by severe cortical depletion number thymocytes undergoing increased approximately forty-fold than on 7 days post-inoculation (DPI). Double-positive suppressed a greater degree either single positive subpopulation, but similar results not observed PRRSV. These suggested abundant might atrophy
