Implantable cardioverter defibrillator lead endocarditis causing diffuse right atrial abscess and pulmonary artery embolism.

摘要: Implantation of electrophysiological cardiac devices such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators has become a widely available routine procedure in cardiovascular medicine. One the most feared complications device implementation is infection. Infection rates for these are reported to vary between 0.7% 7.0%.
