摘要: Black hole (BH)-torus systems are promising candidates for the central engine of -ray bursts (GRBs), and also possible outcomes collapse supermassive stars to black holes (SMBHs). By three-dimensional general relativistic numerical simulations, we show that an m ¼ 1 nonaxisymmetric instability grows a wide range self-gravitating tori orbiting BHs. The resulting structure persists time scale much longer than dynamical one, becoming strong emitter large amplitude, quasiperiodic gravitational waves. Our results indicate both, GRBs newly formed SMBHs, can be wave sources observable by forthcoming groundbased spacecraft detectors.
