摘要: This article explores the renewed role of chiefs in policing and justice enforcement from perspective every-day practices modes organising relationship between local state institutions. Based on ethnographic material Dombe Sussundenga District, Mozambique, it asks what newly forged implies for traditional authority. The shows that Decree 15/2000 was appropriated by tiers police not as a benign recognition already existing chiefly practices, but means to regulate bolster authority former war-zone Dombe.
