摘要: The developmental expression of the individual components insulin-like growth factor (IGF) system in pigs was examined. Serum IGF-I and IGF-binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) levels were low during fetal life increased postnatal development. Levels mRNAs encoding these proteins not greater for liver than nonhepatic tissues (skeletal muscle, lung, kidney) did increase period, whereas hepatic hormone (GH) receptor mRNA postnatally. IGF-II exceeded at all stages examined both exhibited increases. abundance, contrast, high with exception lung declined perinatal transition. Hepatic IGFBP-2 serum latter half gestation then muscle type I IGF receptors corresponding also decreases. discordance changes abundance period does support concept that is primary endocrine source IGFs young pig. increases may reflect decreased plasma clearance rates peptides which be related to transition IGFBP from IGFBP-3 blood reduced tissue receptors.
