Depression symptoms among Omani children: age and sex differences.

摘要: The present study explored the existence of depressive symptoms among Omani children according to sex and age. Arabic translated version Multidimensional Child Adolescent Depression Scale was administered 1,749 (828 boys, 921 girls) ranging in age from 10 18 years old (M= 13.9, SD = 2.3) schools representing different areas Muscat, Oman. results showed no differences total mean scores on depression between boys girls, although were observed 4 8 subscales. Boys had significantly higher Weak concentration Loneliness, while girls scored for Sleep problems Anhedonia. Significant across ages also exhibited score as well four subscales (Pessimism, concentration, Anhedonia, Fatigue), suggesting rates 15- 18-year-olds.
