Thermally stable polybenzoxazines via ortho-norbornene functional benzoxazine monomers: Unique advantages in monomer synthesis, processing and polymer properties

摘要: Abstract Monofunctional and difunctional benzoxazines with ortho -norbornene functionality have been synthesized via Mannich condensation. The structure of monomers has confirmed by 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). functional benzoxazine resins show excellent features both in the synthesis properties corresponding thermosets. containing norbornene groups can polymerize multiple polymerization mechanisms rather than single mechanism common to traditional 1,3-benzoxazine resins. are monitored situ FT-IR differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Activation energy is also studied DSC. Moreover, thermoset derived from monomer exhibits high thermal stability glass transition temperature 365 °C a T d5 463 °C.
