摘要: The inevitable regression of molluscum contagiosum (MC) has been the major argument in favor leaving lesions to spontaneous involution. But infection is often widespread and recurrent. Conventional therapies are frequently ineffective require multiple visits. Flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser now recommended therapy MC case reports. There no evaluation a collagen remodeling (wavelength 585 nm) as possible therapeutic alternative. We treated 76 patients with cutaneous 1 176 (mean 27 MC) prospective study from April 2002 September (over period six months). female/male sex ratio was 1.2:1 (42 girls, 34 boys). Patients were aged 15 years, mean 4.9 years. used nm remodeling, double flashlamp excited pumped ED2000 (manufactured by Deka(c) MELA Calenzano, Italy), spot size 5 mm, energy density (fluence J/cm(2)) 2 4 J/cm(2), emission modality (repetition rate) at 0.5 Hz, short pulse duration 250 microsec all cases. well tolerated. No scars or pigment anomalies observed. 96.3% healed after first treatment, remaining 3.7% second (two weeks later). Laser photocoagulation causes selective damage abnormal vessels surrounding connective tissue. heating effect these skin layers triggers release various growth factors that stimulate tightening. It appears be cell-mediated reaction, which brings about an elevation T lymphocytes, capable affecting pox viridae. Dye however, cannot protect against relapse. Hyperpigmentation may occur nearly sites, however this fades 6 months. for effective, bloodless, quick, easy alternative MC. advantage using absence pain, because (half normal laser), use low fluence (less than J/cm(2)). enables treatment young large number lesions, impossible laser. side effects.
