摘要: Behavioural genetics is one of the most enticing fields in modern biology. Owing to straightforward and semiautomated techniques that can be used measure locomotor activity, circadian rhythmicity perhaps best studied behaviour animals. Thus, during past decade, five essential clock genes have been isolated Drosophila, homologous counterparts for all these also found mammals. As sleep–wake cycle under control clock, master are expected influence sleeping behaviour. However, different vigilance states regulated by additional mechanisms a genetic basis. In this article we discuss molecular approaches may prove useful search sleep-related genes.
