摘要: We tested the predictive utility of health belief model (HBM) for adherence with a complex, ongoing medical regimen in context chronically ill youthful population (56 adolescent outpatients insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus; mean age = 14 years). A three-construct beliefs was tested: Threat (perceived susceptibility combined severity), Benefits-Costs, and Cues to seek treatment. Multiple indicators compliance were used, metabolic control measured by glycosylated hemoglobin. The Benefits-Costs constructs related theoretically expected positive direction. interacted prediction control. greatest achieved low perceived high Benefits-Costs. Poor associated Cues. As increased, exercise, injection, frequency components decreased.
